Freshman win volleyball tournament
The Heights freshman volleyball team won in the North Invitational Tournament.
The Falcons started off with a match against Southeast, next was West. With two wins, and another needed to get the team out of pool play, the team played Kapaun. The game was deciding who would play for first. The game was close the entire first game, which Heights won by only two points, for a final score of 25-23. The next game was a loss for the Falcons but they rebounded back in the third game with a score of 25-22. Heights played well with only a few mistakes. The third and final game was very intense. The ball was played and returned with spikes and tips for a rally that seemed to last forever for both the team and the crowd. Next Heights played Garden City for the Championship. Heights played well and worked hard as a team to win. Heights won two games that led them to the Championship.
Coach Hatfield said, “ I am very happy with our winning the tournament. We played well against Kapaun and then played well against Garden City. There has been growth in the team, and we have the potential of winning much more.”
